As I Cee It

i still loves me some tv (ii).

Posted on: February 2, 2013

I split this post into two because it was really long. The first half concentrated on the shows that are actually airing right now (as far as I know) and the ones that I’ve quit watching. Here, we’ve got the shows that I’m catching up on.

NETFLIX:
Hart of Dixie (CW) – I’m kind of embarrassed about this one. Netflix told me I would 3.0 like it and I didn’t have anything to watch one day so I queued it up on a Friday night (in December, maybe?). Four episodes later, I couldn’t tell you why I was still watching. Nor could I explain why Ioke up the next morning and watched 5 more. I finished the first season, plus the second season premiere in less than one week. I’m not watching it now as it airs, but when season two hits Netflix (I’m thinking late fall), I’ll probably jump back in.

The West Wing (NBC, 1999-2006) – Why didn’t anyone tell me how awesome this show is? I’m in the early episodes of season three and I’m enthralled. Enthralled, I say. Man. Aaron Sorkin is a freakin’ genius and my newly discovered love for this show has led me to…

PREMIUM (I watch these after the seasons are over):
The Newsroom (HBO) – I’m going to repeat myself here: Aaron Sorkin is a freakin’ genius! I love this show. I love Jeff Daniels on this show. I love how cute Jim is, how odd Maggie is. I love that it takes place in “the past.” And Aaron Sorkin is brilliant.

Boardwalk Empire (HBO) – S2’s finale knocked me off my feert. As soon as one of the shows from the first post ends, or days somehow got extended to 25 hours, I’m going to start on S3. Did you watch it? Was it awesome? Don’t spill any beans, just tell me if it’s awesome.

Shameless (Showtime) – This show is sad and hilarious. How can it be both, you ask? The lives the characters are living are rough. Some of the things they go through are just too much for any one family. But there are constant laughs and William H. Macy is fantastic as Frank.

COMING UP: Ok, I’m adding these two because they’re supposed to come back soon, before my summer schedule begins.
Psych (USA) – Psych has been gone FOREVER. It’s the only show that routinely goes missing for almost an entire year at a time. Whatsupwitdatyo? But I still love it. Gus and Shawn are too funny for me to be mad at them for long. Returns at the end of this month. Yay!
Braxton Family Values (WE) – Currently, this is the only reality show I watch (as long as you don’t count reality competition like SYTYCD and DWTS). I just can’t get enough of those Braxton girls! You already know that I love Tamar. The whole group of them together is so much fun to watch. Returns in March. Hooray!

….I watch too much TV, don’t I?

Do you watch any of this group of shows? Anything I should be adding to my list? Even though it’s obvious I should be letting some go.
