I meant to write this yesterday, or even Thursday, but… Well, I didn’t.
Being single with no prospects for as long as I have been (stunning news, I know) means I don’t pay much attention to Valentine’s Day. I’m not bitter or angry about it, it’s just a non-factor in my life. And when you don’t have a Valentine, you don’t expect anything, which is why I was quite surprised to come home to this:
My oldest nephew left this for my mother and I causing us both to walk to the table in a daze with our mouths hanging open. As much as I complain about that kid, he really comes through sometimes. (The card was signed by all my nephews, but I know the oldest one selected the cards and gifts.)
In return, I put sugar, sweat, and tears to work on Valentine’s Day cupcakes.
(This is my third attempt at the Simple Vanilla Cupcakes and [slightly modified] cream cheese frosting from Joy the Baker’s cookbook.)
And do you know after all my work on these cupcake representations of my love for my sister’s children only one of them deigned to eat them?
Oh. I’m back to complaining about them already. That was quick.
we are the champions.

Obviously, I couldn’t write this last night, as my bedtime is 10:30 pm and I didn’t get home until after 11:00, which means I printed my hair, changed my clothes, and crashed.
The Ravens won the Super Bowl! Lombardi trophy! Parade time!
If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram, you got all my pictures, my celebrations, and my rage last night during and after the game. I felt so many things it’s a wonder I wasn’t completely drained this morning. But, alas, I got up and donned my purple-ish blazer for Winners’ Monday. (Above picture on the right is admittedly not the best photo I’ve ever taken.)
Most people are probably psyched about the glory of winning a Super Bowl. And usually I am. I might have been more excited about the win if they’d played better in the post-outrage, but… it felt a bit ugly. However, a win is a win, ugly pretty, glorious, or messy. And this is the biggest win of them all. So this year, IK’m excited about the parade. If you watched the game you know after the power outage (I blame Beyonce) the Ravens started to crumble… or the 49ers just got themselves together. Whichever. I Started to get a bit angry. At one point, I shouted, “Get it together! I want a parade!!!” I think they heard me, bedcause the Ravens parade is tomorrow and guess ho’s going ghost from her job to attend? That’s right. This girl.
Say what you want about my city., but we are united in purple and I can’t wait to welcome the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens back home tomorrow.
BONUS:
Best Super Bowl Commercials: Taco Bell; Leon Sandcastle
Worst Super Bowl Commercials: Farmer; GoDaddy.
What did you think of the game? Which commercials did you love/hate?
i still loves me some tv (ii).

on:I split this post into two because it was really long. The first half concentrated on the shows that are actually airing right now (as far as I know) and the ones that I’ve quit watching. Here, we’ve got the shows that I’m catching up on.
NETFLIX:
Hart of Dixie (CW) – I’m kind of embarrassed about this one. Netflix told me I would 3.0 like it and I didn’t have anything to watch one day so I queued it up on a Friday night (in December, maybe?). Four episodes later, I couldn’t tell you why I was still watching. Nor could I explain why Ioke up the next morning and watched 5 more. I finished the first season, plus the second season premiere in less than one week. I’m not watching it now as it airs, but when season two hits Netflix (I’m thinking late fall), I’ll probably jump back in.
The West Wing (NBC, 1999-2006) – Why didn’t anyone tell me how awesome this show is? I’m in the early episodes of season three and I’m enthralled. Enthralled, I say. Man. Aaron Sorkin is a freakin’ genius and my newly discovered love for this show has led me to…
