We’ve talked about what to get mom, ideas for a teenage boy, your creative friend and your hip friend. Now, I’ll share a few things on my wishlist this year.
- “The Lina” Personalized Stationery – As I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, I love stationery. This one happens to be absolutely adorable. The fact that I can get it personalized just makes it ten times better.
- Prada Candy perfume – I enjoy a sweet smelling perfume. This one is a new favorite of mine. And likely the only Prada item I’ll ever own.
- Because of Them We Can Backpack – This is something I wanted and actually received this year. My hip chick friend and I exchanged gifts last weekend (I did get her that record player) and I opened my bag to reveal this! I’m incredibly pleased and I cannot wait to go on a trip and take it with me.
- Crochet Set – I started crocheting. While I’m not good at it, I do like it. I find it relaxing. If I do happen to get better at it, that’ll just be icing on the cake.
- Just Dance 2016 – I don’t really know or care what it says about me, but I love this series. Sometimes if I’ve had a bad day, I come home, change my clothes and dance it out. It helps…except that time I practically threw my back out. We’re not going to talk about that.
- Kindle books (not pictured) – It sounds lame, I know. This isn’t the most fun gift to give, but it is great to receive. I love reading and since I’ve owned Kindles for the last four years, the number of actual print books I read has dwindled to maybe five per year. Toni always comes through with one of these for my birthday and for Christmas and I am excited about it every time.
So, there are now 10 days left til Christmas and you’re running a bit behind (and so am I; this challenge is as difficult as I thought it would be!). Maybe you haven’t put up your decorations or you’ve realized that you don’t have gifts for quite a few people on your list. Luckily, there are places that are still having sales and also offering free or guaranteed shipping in time for Christmas.
- Paper Source – I like this place. You may be wondering how a paper store could help you. They currently have holiday ornaments and decorations on sale.
- NFL Shop – NFL Shop is providing free shipping on all orders until tomorrow. If you have a football fan on your list, this might be the place for you. Any team-branded item you could possibly think of is here.
- Target – I’ve added Target for one reason: They have free shipping! Ok, well, two reasons. They also have Star Wars items on sale. With latest installment in the franchise premiering this week, I’d say these gifts will be a hit with any Star Wars friends or family that you need a gift for.
I would also like to point out that gift subscriptions are quick and easy. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime… they are gifts that keep on giving and may work out in a pinch.
Good luck!

If you’re a fan of Mariah Carey, then this post is for you. We’re all familiar with her first Christmas album Merry Christmas (1994) and most of us know she released a second one, Merry Christmas II You, over 15 years later in 2010. But there’s more!
This year, Mariah is joining Hallmark for the holidays. On Saturday, December 19, there will be a double dose of Ms. Mariah. She is hosting a Christmas special…right after the premiere of her holiday movie A Christmas Melody. And when I say “her holiday movie,” I mean starring AND directed by Mariah herself. I could barely contain my glee when I saw the preview (click below to watch). I don’t know how this movie is going to turn out, but I’m certainly not going to miss it.
